R.E.A.C.H. America With the Gospel
The following is an update from January to April 2008.
We have continued to hold our Sunday Services at a local park in
Kapolei. It is an open air atmosphere which has been working out
nicely. We have had some really awesome services where the presence
of the Lord is so powerful and people are being so Blessed & moved
by it.
In January - We celebrated 3 baptisms. John Hawelu, his daughter
Jenny Hawelu and Winona Nihoa. Two of whom live on The Big Island.
Bro. John was recently diagnosed with a tumor in his neck area & began
to have Radiation & Chemo treatments. He is doing well right
now. He has a lot of Faith in the Lord. He tells me that he knows
why he is going through this, because he has to trust in the Lord
and that the Lord is keeping him in place through this illness. All
he speaks about is to have a church in the Big Island. Right now,
we have three persons who I have baptized who live on the Big Island.
I have tried to visit them at least once a month and have had wonderful
visits & prayers with them.
Just recently I received a call from a man who is hungry for the
gospel, I went to visit him and to my surprise there were 3 other
men and a lady waiting for a bible study. Bishop these people are
so hungry for God, one of them wanted me to baptize them right there & then.
I told them I wanted to give them a few more studies to be sure he
understands & is ready to commit his life to the Lord. They also
live on the Big Island.
This past Sunday, we had Sister Eva Vigil from Colorado who is visiting
Cindy Pacheco her niece & family, whose husband is stationed
here at Pearl Harbor. Sis Eva, Cindy and her sons were touched in
a very special way. During the week My wife & I met with Sis.
Eva & Cindy for lunch. During our conversation, Cindy spoke of
how her sons really enjoyed the service and felt this is the church
they want to attend. For years she had a longing in her heart, searching
for something, and realized at the service, that it was God she needed
and now wants to be baptized. We had a prayer and the spirit of the
Lord moved once again in that restaurant booth. We will be meeting
with her for bible studies.
In the month of April we will meet in the homes of the brethren for
our midweek service/bible study. On Thursday we had our first meeting
at our home, we had 19 attend. It went really well. We had songs,
prayer, bible study, class for the children and fellowship. I look
forward to these home meetings and know that God is establishing
the brethren to prepare for the Harvest that we will be gathering
for His Honor & Glory.
I am excited for the revival that God is bringing to our Hawaiian
Islands, and I ask that you help us intercede for this Harvest. The
work here in Hawaii started over a decade and a half ago and needs
to be established. There are many spiritual forces and strongholds
on these islands from past generations, who do not want the Harvest.
But I know without a doubt that it is The Lord's Will to Proclaim
this Harvest and bring down those generational strongholds. We are
in great need of true workers for this Harvest. I pray that the Lord
will soon send in the relief workers to help us.
Be Blessed,
Missionary-Pastor, Gabriel Guerra
